June 13, 1959 - October 2, 2020
After long suffering with her knee surgeries, ultimately causing a stroke, Joanne (Jo) Lucille Davidson has made her transition home to be with our Lord on the afternoon of October 2, 2020. She was born to Gertrude Penny Groffen on June 13, 1959. Joanne (Jo) always cared for others, and was always willing to help. She loved to dance, and loved all genres of music, mostly R&B, and Christian. She had a wonderful church family, many of which she crafted hand made birthday cards for. She loved her cats and outside critters, everything from raccoons, chipmunks and humming birds, many of which she adopted. Animals made her happy. She enjoyed tubing and camping. Most of all, she enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her work. She liked tanning and going to the beach. She enjoyed roasting a hot dog on a stick over a fire or going to the park to enjoy a paper sack lunch with a sandwich and a hard boiled egg. It was the simple things in life that gave her joy. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She was ecstatic about all the bright lights and colors, decorating, and was always giving gifts. Birthdays were very important to her also. Jo always enjoyed a good movie - vampire movies were her absolute favorite. Her favorite colors were red and black, and she got excited over anything that sparkled. She is survived by her only daughter, and pride of her life, Trisha (Bryant) Bransford, and grandchildren, Elijah, Brooke, and Brennen; her significant other of many years, William McCallum; two brothers, Calvin and Larry Gosman, along with her only surviving sister, Angela (Tim) Castillo Bishop; her mother's brother, Uncle George; along with plenty of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family. A special mention to her daughter's father, Billy McDermott, who remained a good friend, nephew, Jason Smith, friend, April (Larry) Deursen, and a special baby she loved and called Gerber! She will be missed immensely, tucked safely in our hearts, and always loved! She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Penny Groffen, sisters Penny Kay Hutchinson and Anne Smith, and brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Barker. When you think of me, just know I didn't come to stay! I always knew that God would come for me one day. Now I'm resting with his angels, watching closely over you. Until we're together again, that special day, he takes you too! So in the meantime, when you think of me, just know you'll make it through, I'm still with you always, and always, I'm loving you! Love, Jobē Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial ceremony will be held at a later time. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Kind Cremations of the Great Lakes Bay Region.
